Install the browser extension

Leader Compliance can't read the UK Scouts membership system directly — nobody offers an API for that. Instead, this small browser extension reads it from inside your own signed-in session while you're on membership.scouts.org.uk, then sends what it finds here. It never sees or stores your Scouts password.

Add to Chrome — Chrome Web Store

Chrome or a Chromium-based browser (Edge, Brave, etc.) required — won't work in Safari or Firefox.

Setup

    Click Add to Chrome above and confirm the install on the Store page.

    It should appear as "Leader Compliance Sync" in your toolbar. Pin it (puzzle-piece icon → pin) so it's easy to reach.

    Sign in at membership.scouts.org.uk with your own Scouts account, then come back here and generate a sync key — or use its own "Sync now" button once you're signed in to Leader Compliance too.

Can't use the Chrome Web Store? Install it manually instead

Download the unpacked extension as a zip and load it directly — useful if the Store install is blocked on a managed device.

    Download the zip above and unzip it somewhere you'll keep it (don't delete the folder afterwards — Chrome keeps reading from it).

    Open chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode (top-right toggle).

    Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder (the one with manifest.json directly inside it).

    It should appear as "Leader Compliance Sync" with no errors. Pin it so it's easy to reach.
